Preach the Gospel
Romans 10:14-15 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”
ARE YOU a bit uncomfortable with these words? The Apostle Paul calls you to action with an urgency to preach, “Jesus saves.” He states in the previous verses that one must call on the name of the Lord to be saved. So, he asks, how do people call on Jesus unless they get to hear about Jesus?
Paul is clear to say that Jesus’ followers have the responsibility to “preach” to people who do not know Jesus. Now don’t think you’re off the hook because you’re not a “preacher” or do not have the gift of preaching.
It’s true. Not everyone does have that gift to “officially preach” in front of others with sermons on God’s Word. But you all have a mouth or a means of telling people what they must know, don’t you? Then you must tell your unsaved friends what they must know for their salvation into eternal life: “Jesus saves.”
Yes, tell with your mouth. Communicate with your actions, too, as you show love, forgiveness, joy, peace and kindness.
Also, Jesus’ followers must also send others to preach. Missionaries, a pastor planting a new church, or people going door to door are some who are commonly sent to preach the Gospel. Do they need funding? They certainly need your prayers. Join with them for the preaching of God’s Word.
Yes, you must tell. Jesus’ call is clear, it’s urgent, and it’s certain.
It’s True! When you tell someone, “Jesus saves!” you are preaching REALLY GOOD NEWS!
