Will You Lose or Win?
Read Jeremiah 20 - 23
Jer 20:11 But the LORD is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten.
PEOPLE WHO seek to destroy the people of God can be found in every corner of the world and in every walk of life. Sometimes the destruction comes from mockery and ridicule. Sometimes it comes in violent, deadly ways. Sometimes the persecutors of God’s people are silent as they ignore and diminish the LORD’s ways.
Proclaiming God takes courage. It also takes faith that God will cause your persecutors to stumble and fall. You may not see it happen, but it will. Those who oppose God cannot win. Those who stand for him are certain to proclaim victory.
What does that victory look like? It is a victory not from your strength but the profound joy of life in Jesus as you trust his life, death, resurrection and ascension to the right hand of God. He is your living Savior!
Sadly, those who lose the battle are lost forever. Joyfully, those who win are with Jesus forever. Do your friends, colleagues and family know this? In the final results, will they lose or win? How about you?
Pause and Consider: how it is easy to have courage for those you are passionate about.
