September 13, 2012 Spirit's Leading

Spirit’s Leading Galatians 5:18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under law. IN THE New Testament letters and the account of the early church in the book of Acts, there is one dominant message that you may often overlook. The message is this: the Holy Spirit is powerful and active. Through the Spirit’s power, Christ’s Church is begun. The Spirit empowers the Apostles to speak of Jesus in the marketplace, to heal the sick and to even rejoice when they are beaten for their testimony! The Spirit changes people from non-believers into passionate followers of Jesus. The Spirit sends the Apostles into new countries and frees them from imprisonment. Yes, the Spirit acted then to lead God’s people forward into Kingdom living, and he certainly acts now. Jesus’ church needs an earthly authority who can take the people of God toward a deeper, richer relationship with God the Father, Son and Spirit. And who better to do this than the Holy Spirit, the one who displays the evident power of God? Yes, he leads you to open your heart to the Father and Son, and he gives you God’s gifts and abilities to know God’s wondrous love for you. The Spirit is the reality of grace. He transmits God’s power and Jesus’ salvation to you, so you can love God back, act for him and respond to his call on your life. Pray for the Holy Spirit’s empowering presence, and he will lovingly lead you to a greater place with God. I pray you will pray that for your life. I pray you are ready to follow God, the Spirit. When you do, you will know the meaning of a Spirit-filled life. It’s True! The Holy Spirit leads you into God’s presence.
