September 22, 2012 Best Worship

Best Worship Malachi 1:7-8 “You place defiled food on my altar. But you ask, ‘How have we defiled you?’” “By saying that the LORD’s table is contemptible. 8 When you bring blind animals for sacrifice, is that not wrong? When you sacrifice crippled or diseased animals, is that not wrong? Try offering them to your governor! Would he be pleased with you? Would he accept you?” says the LORD Almighty. WHAT are you willing to offer God? Are you in the habit of giving to God if you have something left over at the end of the month? Or are you committed to giving him your best, the top of your possessions? God has always required that his people worship him with the best they have. You honor God as you sacrifice to God. You make no sacrifice offering God what is left over or what is easy to do. That’s convenience. After all, when you give someone a job, you want their best effort don’t you? You won’t accept their convenient help. God has formed you into life, and he has given you a job. He has given you the task of caring for the earth. Genesis 1:28: God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” See how he has gifted you to work in the world. Everything you have comes from him. He simply desires you return to him a very small portion of his gift. Focus on his blessings to you. Worship God. Offer to him the best of what he has given to you. It’s True! We think it’s ours, but it’s his.
