August 10, 2011 A Perfect Pattern

A Perfect Pattern
Read Daniel 1 - 3

Daniel 1:17 To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.
&
Daniel 2:27 Daniel replied, “No wise man, enchanter, magician or diviner can explain to the king the mystery he has asked about, 28 but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.”

HOW CAN you not warmly embrace Daniel and his friends who warmly embraced God? God gave them knowledge of him and faith in him to bring glory to him.
God began using these men for his glory when he caused King Nebuchadnezzar to have a very disturbing dream. Then God put in the King’s mind to issue harsh punishment to the false prophets. Here is an opportunity for Daniel and his friends to show the true God to the unbelieving world.
And Daniel did it! With his life on the line, Daniel turned to God. Daniel gave credit to God. And Nebuchadnezzar praised God.
Think of this: an unbeliever praises God when God’s people had so long rejected him. God brings glory to his name and his purposes. He uses whomever he chooses to do so.
Are you ready to respond as Daniel? Do you see how Daniel first prayed for help, waited for the answer, then acted on it? This is a good pattern to use. The LORD is greater than all that opposes him—even your doubts. Seek him, listen to him and respond to him—a perfect pattern to living.

Pause and Consider: how can you let go of your doubts and trust God’s answers?
