August 3, 2011 Safe in Jesus

Safe in Jesus
Read Ezekiel 28 - 30

Ezekiel 28:25 This is what the Sovereign LORD says: “ When I gather the people of Israel from the nations where they have been scattered, I will show myself holy among them in the sight of the nations. Then they will live in their own land, which I gave to my servant Jacob. 26 They will live there in safety and will build houses and plant vineyards; they will live in safety when I inflict punishment on all their neighbors who maligned them. Then they will know that I am the LORD their God.”

SAFETY is important, isn’t it? We want to feel safe in our work, that it will go well and pay for a safe place to live. We want to feel safe in our relationships, knowing other people love us and respond to our love for them. We want to feel safe from physical harm in our neighborhoods and in our schools. We want to feel safe from judgment and criticism.
God wants you to feel safe in him. To do so, we must open ourselves to accept his perfect ways. As God speaks to his people through Ezekiel, they are in the early years of their exile to Babylon. They are wondering about their future. They don’t feel safe in a foreign land. And I’m sure they are wondering if they are safe under their holy God. They have offended him!
God, though, assures his people he has a safe place for them to come home to again. And when they do, they will see their perfect (holy) God love them perfectly. He will keep them safe from other nations.
Are you wondering if it’s safe to trust God with your life? Get this from 1 John 5:18 “We know that no child of God keeps on sinning, for the Son of God keeps him safe, and the Evil One cannot harm him.” Be assured your perfect Father in Heaven offers you his Savior to guide you to a life safe in him forever.

Pause and Consider: that people will feel safe around you when you live in God’s perfection.
