Kingdom Gift
Read Matthew 5-6
Matthew 5:3 “God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.”
GOD IS ready to give you access to the Kingdom of Heaven. Are you ready to receive it? You don’t have to wait for heaven. It’s for you right now. How do we receive this eternal gift into our temporary life?
What does it take to receive any gift? We must be ready to receive it. Isn’t it fun to get up on your birthday and know your loved ones have a surprise prepared for you? Isn’t it fun to receive it and be blessed in the love it brings to you?
In this short statement, Jesus offers you everything because he knows that without him we really have nothing. Jesus knows your life has its “troubles each day” (6:34). So Jesus lovingly offers you his blessing to help you know how to avoid trouble and how to deal with life.
See, for example, in today’s scripture how Jesus teaches you Kingdom ways to pray, fast, think, speak and act. Then see the reward for being open to these ways as you pray: your will be done on earth as it is in heaven as it is in heaven Matt. 6:10.
Living in the Father’s will, you receive the favor of his spiritual wealth over you now. That wealth gives you the richness to be delivered from the evil One (6:10), safe in the Kingdom ways, trusting God’s will each day.
Open yourself to Jesus’ life-giving ways. Jesus is eager to give to you a touch of heaven on earth each day of your life. Oh, what a King!
Pause and Consider: ways Jesus offers to you a touch of heaven today.
