Kingdom Access
Read Matthew 5-6

Matthew 5:3 “God blesses those who realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.”

HOW do we gain access to the Kingdom of Heaven? First we must realize we need God. God is King. There is no way into his Kingdom until we understand our need for the King.

It is common and easy in our culture to say, “I can do it.” We often refuse help, and we tend to want to be in control of the affairs of our lives. Looking to God for help is perceived as a weakness. For many, God is where we turn when something seriously wrong happens.

But God’s true kingship means he is a benevolent, loving, merciful, bountiful and ruling king who wants to be involved in our everyday existence. In our coming in and going out, he invites us to honor him and listen to his ways.

When we do so, the Kingdom of Heaven will be given to us. Note the word “given”. God, the King, gives to you his Kingdom. As you obey him, you receive the joys of faith, hope now and eternal life forever,. You receive the favor of his spiritual wealth over you. You receive joy.

Open yourself to the will of the Living King. He has much to give you as he blesses your life.
